Installing the Wickey Smart Empire Climbing Tower Playset
Children’s climbing frames from Wickey have a similar appearance and design to play frames from other manufacturers including Jungle Gym and Selwood Products, except for the fact that Selwood playsets have a characteristic copper colour, whereas Wickey climbing frames are made from a natural colour timber which has not been stained.
Playsets from Wickey, Selwood and Jungle Gym are all designed to stand on top of the ground, whether it be that they are installed on top of grass or a safety surface, they are not designed to be sunken into the ground at all like some climbing frames are from manufacturers such as Play Crazy. The Smart Empire climbing tower from Wickey is a relatively compact climbing frame, designed with small to medium sized gardens in mind. The Smart Empire play frame includes a wooden play fort with a railed play deck for children to climb to, a tarpaulin roof which covers the play fort, a slide, a ladder, a swing set, other accessories such as a telescope and steering wheel to inspire fun games and even room to install a sandbox.
The play fort includes a wooden play deck which children can climb to using the step ladder/ climbing wall at the back of the play frame. The play deck is sheltered by the tarpaulin roof which offers shelter from rain and also direct sunlight on hot sunny days so the play deck stays shaded and cool. Inside the play deck some additional toy accessories including a telescope and a steering to inspire fun games. Additional toys can be added to your playset at a later date if your wish to add more to your playset to keep the kids amused.
Underneath the play deck is the perfect space to install a sandbox. The sandbox boards are already in place around the base of the play fort and a sandbox can make a great addition to your climbing frame for younger members of the family, and if not this space can come in handy for plenty of other things!
The slide at the front of the Smart Empire climbing frame is an iconic and very popular part of a children’s climbing frame. The slide is a popular accessory and kids will love zooming down from the play deck. It is important to ensure that there is adequate room or a ‘safe zone’ at the bottom of your slide to make sure children can land safely with ample room.
The swing set to the side of the Wickey Smart Empire climbing tower includes a two position swing beam with two plastic rigid swing seats. Kids will love playing on the swing set and it also adds a great amount of variety to the playset.
