The Selwood Products Skyline Climbing Frame Installation
The Skyline climbing frame from Selwood is an action packed wooden play frame which is designed with medium to large sized gardens in mind. The Skyline features a wooden play fort with a lower play cabin plus a play deck for children to climb to using the rockwall at the back of the playset. The Skyline also includes a monkey bar module, a swing set, a lookout box, a straight slide, a tube slide and even a picnic bench.
Climbing frames from Selwood Products are manufactured from a cedar wood which is treated to ensure their play frames are safe and long lasting. The wood is smoothed to ensure there are no rough edges to Selwood climbing frames plus it is also washed with a protective stain to preserve the wood. The protective red stain is what gives play frames from Selwood their characteristic dark red, copper colour which looks nice in any garden.
Selwood playsets are designed to stand on top of grass or a level safety surface rather than sunken into the ground or concreted in like some play frames from other manufacturers can be. Climbing frames from Selwood are not designed with legs that can be concreted into the ground, instead they are designed as more of a box and therefore need to be installed on top of a flat surface to keep them stable.
Although Selwood climbing frames are pre-cut and pre-drilled ready to be self-assembled, we provide a professional installation service to take the stress away from DIY and ensure nothing goes wrong. Our experienced climbing frame installers can have your play frame built in no time and ensure it is correctly installed and safe to use also.
The Skyline climbing frame from Selwood features a wooden play tower with a spacious play deck for kids to climb to. The play deck is enclosed around the outside with wooden railings with a wall at the front to keep kids safe when playing inside the play fort. The play deck is also covered by a solid wooden roof to provide shelter inside the upper play house and also ensures the play deck is shaded on a hot sunny day. Children can climb to the play deck using the rockwall ladder at the back of the play frame which can help kids develop their strength and coordination skills.
Inside the upper playhouse which the play deck supports is steps up to the railed lookout box. The lookout box is like a balcony box for children to climb to which is the highest point that kids can reach in this climbing frame as it sits on top of the swing beam. The balcony box is railed around the outside to keep little ones safe and provides a great view of the garden.
The Skyline climbing frame is very similar to the Skyfort, also from Selwood Products which also includes a lookout box as well as a swing set, monkey bars and a tiered play fort. The Skyfort is also designed with larger gardens in mind like the Skyline as it includes a wide selection of fun activities to keep kids amused.
Underneath the play deck there is a second play cabin/playhouse for children to play in. the enclosed play cabin is open at the back so children can get in and out but is enclosed at the front with windows on each side. The play cabin is sheltered by the play deck so is the perfect place to keep other toys and for children to play whatever the weather. The lower play house also includes a chalk wall on the front wall for kids to get creative on plus a wooden picnic bench on the outside. The bench is a handy accessory as it gives kids somewhere to sit and relax between play or have a drink and a snack.
At the back of the climbing frame there is a small monkey bars module which adds another activity to this fun-filled playset. The monkey bars are a great way for kids to challenge themselves and boost their confidence while improving their coordination skills and strength too. Older children or confident climbers especially will enjoy playing on the monkey bars whilst they also give younger children something to grow into.
To the side of the play fort is the swing set. The Skyline’s swing set features a two seater glider swing plus two flexible belt swings. The glider swing can encourage children to play together as well as work as a team to swing and the flexible belt swings can help little ones to balance as they grip children’s hips while they are on the swing.
The Skyline climbing frame is also very similar to the Bayfield Retreat which is also from Selwood Products. The Skyline features both a straight slide at the front of the play frame as well as a tube slide at the side of the play fort just like the Bayfield Retreat does. The Bayfield Retreat play frame also features a swing set with a lookout box on top for children to climb to.
Climbing frames are a great way to keep children healthy and active and keep them amused for hours on end. Children’s playsets can provide hours of outdoor fun and at this time of year they will certainly get enough use to make them worthwhile.
