The ‘Cubby Balcony’ Climbing Frame from Jungle Gym Backyard Playgrounds
The Cubby Balcony climbing frame is similar to the Cubby 1-Swing X’tra play frame, also from Jungle Gym except it features a balcony in place of the swing beam that the Cubby 1-Swing X’tra has.
Climbing frames from Jungle Gym are manufactured from quality pinewood timber which is treated to preserve the wood and smoothed down to help avoid any sharp splinters. Wooden play frames from Jungle Gym are designed to stand on top of grass or a flat safety surface rather than be concreted into the ground.
Climbing frames from other manufacturers can be sunken into the ground and concreted to maximise their stability like Play Crazy climbing frames for example. However climbing frames from Jungle Gym as well as other popular manufacturers like Selwood Products are designed to stand on top of the ground. The Jungle Gym playsets therefore need to be installed on a flat area of grass or safety flooring in your garden as they are not designed to be sunken in.
The Cubby Balcony play frame features a spacious wooden play fort with a two-tiered play deck just like the Cubby Climb X’tra and the Cubby 1-Swing X’tra climbing frames, also from Jungle Gym include too. The two-tiered play deck is a nice design for the playset as it gives children more to climb plus it also is less daunting for younger climbers if there is a smaller play deck for them to start off with and gain confidence on. The play fort includes a lower play deck at the back of the play frame which is covered by a wooden roof and railed around the edges to ensure little ones are safe while playing. The second higher play deck is not sheltered by the roof so is more like a balcony area for children to climb to.
There is also an additional balcony box for children to climb to at the side of the play fort. The balcony box is joined to the play fort and is also enclosed around the outside but open-topped so kids can enjoy the view over the garden. Kids can climb to the play deck using the rockwall at the side of the play fort. The rockwall is a great way for children to develop coordination skills and also improve their strength too.
The wavy slide at the front of the climbing frame is a fun way for children to exit the play deck. Slides are a very popular climbing frame accessory that kids love whizzing down and the wave in the middle of the slide makes the ride down even more exciting! There should always be adequate room at the bottom of your slide for children to land safely without obstacles or anything in the way of a safe landing.
Underneath the play deck there is room for a sandbox to be installed like in most of the Jungle Gym climbing frames. The sandbox boards are already in place around the bottom of the play fort and a sandbox can be a great activity for younger members of the family to enjoy. The space beneath the play deck can always come in handy for other things though if a sandbox is not suitable for you.
Climbing frames are a brilliant way for children to stay active and amused as well. They can provide hours of outdoor fun whilst encouraging children to play outdoors and get plenty of fresh air as well as make the most of the nice weather at this time of year. The Cubby Balcony is a suitable climbing frame for even small gardens as it is designed in a compact way to save space. The Cubby Balcony can ensure that even a small garden is transformed into a fun playground so kids don’t miss out.
