Climbing frames from Selwood are engineered from cedar which is a soft wood. The wood is smoothed down to help avoid splinters plus it is stained to help prevent the playsets from decaying. The protective stain is what provides Selwood climbing frames with their distinctive orange colour.

The Selwood Atlantic climbing frame featur es both a slide and a swing beam protruding from the play tower so therefore is designed with medium to large sized gardens in mind. The Atlantic is similar to the Skyfort playset from Selwood but the Skyfort is a slightly larger climbing frame.

The Atlantic features a wooden play fort which is sheltered by a wooden roof and includes a raised play deck for children to climb to. The deck is approximately 1.5m from the ground and is kept relatively dry by the roof which offers shelter and provides shade inside the play tower on hot sunny days.

The raised play deck supports the upper playhouse which is enclosed around the outside to keep little on es safe while playing in the fort, plus it even includes features such as slatted windows around the front and side as well as sunburst detailing in the roof. The Atlantic is a playset with lots of character which looks pretty in any garden.

Kids can climb to the deck/ upper playhouse using either the step ladder at the front of the play frame orthe rockwall at the side. The play deck even has a raised balcony area off the back of the play fort which is not covered over by a roof but it is railed around the outside tp keep kids safe whilst climbing.

The rockwall provides a more challenging climb to the play deck than the step ladder and is a great way for children to develop strength, coordination and balance. Confident climbers will love testing their climbing abilities on the rockwall however the step ladder offers a less daunting climb so younger ones can reach the play deck safely too.

The slide off to the side of the play tower is a wavy slide which features a small bump in the middle. The wavy slide can provide that extra fun factor as opposed to a straight slide, however the wave does speed up the ride down slightly. The slide is a fantastic way for children to exit the play deck and it even has high moulded sides to keep little ones as safe as possible on the way down.

Beneath the play deck of the main tower is an open play space sheltered by the play deck which makes it an ideal place for kids to play or even to store other outdoor toys. The lower space does include a wall at the back of the play frame which has its own picnic bar. This handy accessory is great for inspiring fun games or for holding drinks and snacks.

Lastly, the swing beam to the other side of the play fort is a very popular climbing frame accessory. The Atlantic’s swing set features a two seater glider swing as well as two single belt swings which are great for younger children too. The single belt swings are designed to flex around children’s hips when they sit down helping them to stay safely balanced on the swing seat. The two seater glider swing is also a fun addition as it takes two to play and can encourage children to work together.
