Children’s climbing frames from Selwood are attractive, pre designed wooden playsets.
Selwood’s range are characterised by the red colour stain used to protect the wood from
rotting. The wood is treated with a red stain to preserve the play frame and also looks nice
in gardens especially in the autumn.
The Ramsey climbing frame is no exception to Selwood’s characteristic red stain and it
includes a wooden play fort, wooden monkey bar set, picnic bench plus a slide and a vinyl
roof.
The wooden rockwall ladder at the back of the play frame is a great way for kids to climb to
the play deck as is the monkey bars to the side of the play tower. The rockwall ladder is two
accessories for the price of one as it caters to two different abilities. Younger children or less
confident climbers may find a rockwall daunting but can use the steps of the ladder to build
their confidence and reach the play deck safely. Older children or confident climbers can
challenge themselves using just the hand and foot grips, whilst improving their strength and
coordination at the same time.
The monkey bars at the side of the play frame are an alternative way of reaching the
wooden play deck. The monkey bar set is only small in this climbing frame which means that
this playset can be suitable for smaller gardens as well as those with plenty of room.
Monkey bars are a fantastic activity for children to build strength on and can provide a
challenge so kids won’t get bored.
The play deck is covered by a vinyl roof which offers protection from UV when children are
playing in the play fort and it also provides a small amount of protection from wind and rain.
The play deck is also railed on one side and partially enclosed around the other sides. This
means that kids are safe from tumbles but can still see out over the garden from the play
fort.
Underneath the play deck is a wooden picnic bench which is a nice sheltered eating place
and offers kids a place to rest between play. It can also be used as a place for arts and crafts
so there is no mess indoors!
The slide at the front of the climbing frame is a popular exit route from the play deck and
kids will love zooming down the slide and climbing back up to the play fort again. This is why
children’s play sets are such a fantastic way of keeping children healthy and active as they
are a great form of exercise that kids will have fun doing.
The Ramsey climbing frame is similar to the Balmoral Fort from Selwood Products. The
Balmoral Fort play frame is designed for those who have very limited space in their garden
and its play fort is extremely similar to the Ramsey climbing frame’s play fort. The only
difference between the play towers is that the Balmoral Fort does not include a wooden
picnic bench underneath the play deck. It has an open space for play instead. The only other
big difference is that the Ramsey playset features monkey bars and the Balmoral Fort does
not.
Other playsets from Selwood that feature monkey bars include the Vigo climbing frame, the
Osborn, the Meadowside, the Brightside, the Woodchester, the Myers play frame and many
more.
