The Selwood Hartwell Climbing Frame
New for 2015, the Hartwell climbing frame from Selwood is a stunning action packed playset
that kids will love. The Hartwell includes many popular climbing frame accessories including
a playhouse, monkey bars, slide, rockwall ladder and a picnic bench area for kids to relax on.
The Hartwell playset is similar to the Brightside, from Selwood also, as they both include a
playfort with a tarpaulin roof. They also both feature a straight slide at the front of the play
frame and a picnic area. The main difference between the Hartwell and the Brightside is
that the Brightside includes a swing set as well as monkey bars whereas the Hartwell does
not include swings.
The Hartwell climbing frame features a main play fort with an upper playhouse for children
to climb to using the rockwall ladder. The play deck is covered by a waterproof tarpaulin
roof and next to the play fort is a picnic area which is covered by a second matching
tarpaulin canopy.
The picnic bench area is a great place for children to relax between play, for picnics in
summer but also for drawing. The side of the play fort features a chalk board for children to
get creative on.
Underneath the main playhouse is an open play area which can be used to store other
outdoor toys or it could be turned into a sandpit for younger children to enjoy.
The straight slide at the front of the climbing frame is a very popular accessory and it
provides a fun way for kids to exit the play deck. Another popular accessory includes in the
Hartwell playset is monkey bars. This is a great activity for children to practice their
coordination skills on and can also help improve confidence.
The Hartwell climbing frame from Selwood is engineered using structurally certified cedar
wood which is preserved by a red protective stain, characteristic to Selwood’s playsets. This
treatment helps the wooden play frame to cope with more wear and tear and therefore it
will last your family longer.
Another climbing frame that the Hartwell is similar to is the Kingstone. The Kingstone play
frame features an upper playhouse with an area underneath like the Hartwell does. It also
includes a tarpaulin canopy but this time over a second play deck which then sits over a
picnic bench area, similar to the Hartwell climbing frame.
One main difference between these two playsets is that the Kingstone has a swing set in
place of the monkey bars that the Hartwell has. The Kingstone is a slightly larger playset and
therefore is a great alternative to the Hartwell if your children would particularly like swings
The Hartwell play frame can be installed on top of grass or any safety flooring if you have a
particularly hard grounded garden and are concerned about your climbing frame being extra
safe for your kids to play on. Once assembled the Hartwell can provide years of fun for your
family and is a fantastic way of keeping children healthy and active.
