The Mount Forest Lodge Climbing Frame, Selwood Products
The Mount Forest Lodge climbing frame is one of the larger, more elaborate children’s
playsets from Selwood Products. This play frame is constructed using premium cedar wood
which is specifically engineered to provide strength and stability to the climbing frame. The
cedar wood is coated with an attractive and unique red stain which gives the wood a
protective coating from weathering and rotting.
The Mount Forest Lodge play frame is similar to the Skyfort climbing frame and the Bayfield
Retreat (also both from Selwood Products). Both the Mount Forest Lodge and the Skyfort
climbing frames include many of the same accessories, such as a wavy slide, swing beam
and the main play fort is also similarly designed.
The Skyfort climbing frame features a railed lookout box which sits on top of the swing
beam meaning it is a higher platform than the play deck. The Mount Forest Lodge includes a
similar feature adjoined to the side of the playdeck, a railed open lookout area. The only
difference being that it is on the same level as the main play deck.
The only other big difference between the Mount Forest Lodge and the Skyfort climbing
frame is that the Mount Forest Lodge does not include monkey bars whereas the Skyfort
Another playset that is similar to the Mount Forest Lodge is the Bayfield Retreat climbing
frame. This play frame includes everything that the Mount Forest Lodge does but it also has
an additional accessory, the enclosed spiral tube slide, as well as a wavy slide. The Bayfield
Retreat features a railed lookout box, just like the Skyfort climbing frame does and similar to
the Mount Forest Lodge’s lookout area also.
Due to the Mount Forest Lodge not including a spiral tube slide as well as a wavy slide, it
does not need quite as much room to be installed as the Bayfield Retreat playset does.
Therefore, the Mount Forest Lodge is suitable for those with limited space in their gardens
whilst the Bayfield Retreat is a fantastic alternative with one extra accessory if you are lucky
enough to have more garden space.
The Mount Forest Lodge climbing frame features a beautifully designed play fort which
includes a lot of detailing such as windows, sunburst detailing on the roof, and even a clock
and a chalk board for kids to get creative on.
This jam packed play frame includes a spacious wooden play deck that children can climb to
using either the rockwall or the ladder at the back of the climbing frame. The rockwall has
moulded plastic hand and foot grips and provides a great way for confident climbers to
improve their strength and coordination skills. The ladder is a nice alternative way for less
confident climbers to build confidence and reach the play deck.
The Mount Forest Lodge’s play fort is sheltered by a solid wooden roof which offers
protection from rain and direct sunlight when kids are playing in the play fort. The lower
playhouse underneath the play deck is enclosed but it includes lots of windows and a
working door.
The swing beam is built on to the side of the play fort and is a popular feature. It includes
two belt swings and a trapeze bar which offers variation for kids.
Last to be installed is the moulded wavy slide at the front of the playset which is an exciting
way for children to exit the playdeck, ready to climb to the top all over again.
Children’s climbing frames are a fantastic way to keep children healthy, active and
entertained. They make amazing outdoor toys and are the perfect party piece for kids
parties or when friends come round to play.
The Mount Forest Lodge includes enough activities for several children to play together at
once and therefore helps prevent boredom and encourage social play too.
