Slides, manufactures have problems with them and you as the customer are the person that still has to pay for often damaged or scratched good. It’s hard to ship and pack something that is so long and such an odd shape whilst still helping with space in the containers and warehouses. Selwood Products is currently importing new slides however which come flat packed in boxes meaning you can pack the slide in the same size box as the playset.

This is the how to guide with pictures showing what you need and how to build your slide. The slide comes in two lengths but its the same process on how to build them.

*CAUTION – Building these in very cold temperatures could cause cracking of the slide bed.

The written tips and hints on how to build the Selwood Products flat pack slide:

  1. Get everything you need and that is required.
  2. Get the two pieces of wood, one with holes the other is smaller and thinner
  3. Place the larger piece over the top and use it as a template for drilling the holes into the smaller piece
  4. Use the larger piece again as the template and drill into the slide bed. Tips: Place the larger piece of wood directly at the end of the plastic so both sides are even. Then lift the wood just 5mm from the end of the slide as per pictures
  5. Attach this wood with the carriage bolts or bolts they suggest in the instructions.
  6. Bend the plastic and fold it up so that it’s easy to place into the side supports.
  7. Push the plastic slide bed completely into one side,  use the screws to hold the slide bed in place.
  8. Put the other side on the slide bed, use minimal screws to hold in place, keeping away from the centre at the moment.
  9. Middle support braces are now pushed into the spaces and lift the plastic to pop them into place.
  10. Hold in place and drop the slide onto the top, push it together with your legs and screw together
  11. Make sure ALL the screws go in straight and the slide bed is fully in both grains. Hint If you don’t put the screws in straight then they could pop out into the slide itself and crack the plastic.
